I recently move to South East Georgia…

From Old GA Buildings

And have already fallen in love with the old abandoned buildings, homes, barns, stores, etc.

From Old GA Buildings

So I Stalked Them!

I Explored and Hunted.

Sometimes Breaking the Law…

From Old GA Buildings

Sometimes Meeting Nice People.

From Old GA Buildings

Like Grandpa David who owns the above barn and silo.  There is a dilapidated over 100 year old house that his grand father lived in nearby that I would love to explore.  He welcomed me back and I think I will take him up on that.

Lovely man. The photo below is also from his property.

From Old GA Buildings

I want those things.

Love the curling wood chippy paint of the one below!

From Old GA Buildings

I love wood, but it is not a secret that I am in love with rust…

And love this rust to death!

From Old GA Buildings

Oh, the Rust, Green and Blue of it all!

Old Brick and Old Wood…

From Old GA Buildings

Nothing Better…unless you added Rust to it!

Welcome, Come Right In!

From Old GA Buildings

Lovely Doorways, sigh.

Old Rust and Old Wood…

If You Threw Old Bricks in There I Would be Besides Myself with Giddiness!

From Old GA Buildings

There is a Story Behind Each One of These Buildings…

And I Would Love to Hear Each One!

From Old GA Buildings

Until Then, I Will Use My Imagination!

From Old GA Buildings

Are there Lingering Ghosts Here?

Maybe.

From Old GA Buildings

The door  shut on its own as soon as I walked up to it.

No wind. I kid you not!

From Old GA Buildings

The Door was Wide Open and it Slowly Closed as I Walked Towards it.

As I Stopped to take Photos, the Door Stopped Closing.

Oh, Yes…That Happened!

Any way, Back to the Bright and Cheery.

From Old GA Buildings

Love the Contrast of Color & Texture!

The Things I Could Remake with this Loverly Old Wood!

From Old GA Buildings

AND THESE RUSTY BITS OF LOVE!

From Old GA Buildings

GLAD I SHOT THIS IN THE WINTER AS THE LEAFLESS VINES ADDS A BIT OF LONELINESS TO THIS OLD LOVE SHACK.

From Old GA Buildings

WHAT WAS ONCE LOCKED INSIDE THIS OLD GAL?

Yes, I wrote, “Chain”delier!

A Chandelier….

From CHAINdelier

Made from Chain!

The idea started out with Old Chain.

From CHAINdelier

But I ran out and added some new chain which added something shiny…

Which this girl always like!

From CHAINdelier

There was a lot of chain cutting…

Which had to be done in different sessions due to my dainty girl-man hands!

From CHAINdelier

And then there was attaching…

Triple attaching at that!

From CHAINdelier

Metal Rings, Glue & Wire…

Makes for a strong Chaindelier!

From CHAINdelier

And since this girl is distracted by shiny things…

I decided to add more of it!

From CHAINdelier

Using Vintage Chandelier Crystals…

From CHAINdelier

And Beads!

From CHAINdelier

And there you have it!

A Long and fun process.

It does not have a light in it as is, but I have the fixture to put in it at any moment!

I can be yours …  The Chandelier @ OUR OWN BIG WORLD!

Some extra shine for your holiday season!

I am so impressed with Puerto Rico…

And the creativity I found there!

We stopped in for some chilled coffee at a cafe and this is what we found!

From Craft Ideas From PR!

Cool, eh?

Look Closer…

From Craft Ideas From PR!

It is made from old book covers!

How cool is that?

And there is more!

From Craft Ideas From PR!

Don’t be distracted by Jim’s great looks…

That is a piece made from old wooden spoons and a small mirror above his cute head!

Loved this place!

After the trip to the cafe we went to the Museo De Las Americas.

From Craft Ideas From PR!

Where we ran into BASURA by Nick Quijan

From Craft Ideas From PR!

Yes…
Basura means Trash.

And Yes, this Artist made Art from Trash!

From Craft Ideas From PR!

Trash he found on one stretch of beach in Old San Juan right there in Puerto Rico!

From Craft Ideas From PR!

I love these “men”!

And…
So inspired by the art and creativity around me…
I started to see art in everything…

From Craft Ideas From PR!

Here…

From Craft Ideas From PR!

And there…

From Craft Ideas From PR!

And that pile too!

I searched, gathered and took home my own little pile!

From Craft Ideas From PR!

I wish I could have taken more of those little pieces of drift wood home with me…
There were thousands of them!

From Craft Ideas From PR!

And who doesn’t love sea glass?

From Craft Ideas From PR!

Playing with my finds…

From Craft Ideas From PR!

I like it!

I can’t wait to put those pieces to work for me…

Not sure it will be this sunburst or what…

But I am sure I will tell you all about it!

Vermont is freakin’ beautiful…

Even when it is dead.

——

MY PHOTO and WRITTEN WORD SERIES.

—–

Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

The beauty of death

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

The deadly spine flitters and floats.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

“We are not in vain!” says the beautiful flower that dies.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

Whoville died in Vermont.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

But it is where butterflies go to hibernate!

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

The veiny fingers of death reach for the sky.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

What death makes you…

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

Oh Puffy Stuff?

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

Even in death, I will stand tall!

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

“Blue skies you do not deceive me!” says the naked tree.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

“I still like the sunlight.” she said with her last flower breath.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

Eyelashes of death try to block the view.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

And its veins try to suffocate.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

Color laughs at the grey of death.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

“We are not of this deadly world,” says the lively fluff ‘n’ stuff.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

Pods of death ready to blast off into winter.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

We will not die, we will not curl up and die!

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

Star bursts of death spring upward.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

While death breathes, roses sleep.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

Death loves me, Death loves me not.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

Death’s fairy wings on a stick.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

I flutter, I flitter, I flurry and soon I will die.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

Winter is upon as
Balls lay unused among dead leaves
Guarded by the Gnomesman
Who has stood the strength of winter
And shall prevail once again!

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

And then it snowed!

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

Adding a bit of clarity to death around.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

Sprinkling death with sugar.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

Tiny fingers cupping clouds of sugar.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

Clouding death.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

And still purple strives.

From Ugly Beautiful Brattleboro

As does the Gnomesman of Winter.
