Welcome to the Living Room!

From House House Lovely House!

We may just leave this oh-so-not mid-century couch in this room as both the room and the couch are big and they fit each other!

94% of everything else in the living and dining rooms is from the Mid-Century!

Matter of fact, most of the house is furnished with mid-century items…down to the set of Sears flatware my Mom gave me as a teen probably for my hope chest!

The Foyer…

Could not pass up the light fixture that Jim rebuilt and the Sears star burst clock that my Step Father fixed!

WE Love our new place and had fun and some fights getting it to this point, but it is not still 100% done!

And 10 pieces in these photos, I created!  Can you guess which 10?

  10. Looks GREAT. Can you come do my 1975 1000 square foot CBS box south Florida house NEXT? I’ve been trying to figure out what to paint the outside of my house FOR FOREVER and I love your shutters. I think you’ve inspired me. Wonder what the color names of the paint and brand name that you used? I guess I will have to explore your site further and see if you posted the paint names. GREAT JOB. PS….I have the same ugly french provincial kitchen cabinets you had. HELP ME!!! LOL LOVE what you’ve done to your house. ENJOY debmassey@bellsouth.net

    • HenderBalz says:

Thank you!!!! Oh, I didn’t put paint names in the blog! I just had 2-5 samples of a color, painted it on the wall and just picked one. I can decide really easy on paint colors. Thought I was a big crazy to do so much of inside the house in yellow…but love it because it is always bright and sunny! I wanted more of a sea foam green for the outside, but my husband wanted blue…so I did the aqua blue with the yellow and white.

If you look at earlier blogs you can see we did not spend a lot for the stuff inside the house too. Also we loved the original countertop in the kitchen, so we just painted the outside and alllll the insides of the cabinets and added the pulls/knobs/handles. We did retro VCT tiles which are really low in price…you have to find them in commercial departments with flooring companies.

      Good luck…ask me any questions!

Amazing Transformation! Love what you have done and can really appreciate the time and effort. I just about killed myself with only 520 sq feet to renovate! Really wonderful home you have created!
